Graduates of UMKC's Pharm.D. program have the training needed to successfully complete national and state licensure exams and work as a pharmacist. The Pharm.D. degree requires at least six years of college – two years of prerequisite courses and four years of professional study.
Incoming freshmen typically start as pre-pharmacy and apply to the Pharm.D. program while in college. An additional option is the Early Assurance (EA) Program. EA allows qualified, high-achieving students who are admitted to UMKC directly from high school and meeting set standards, the ability to gain priority status as a pre-pharmacy student and assure that they are on track to earn their spot in the competitive Pharm.D. program. The UMKC Pharmacy School has campuses in Kansas City, Columbia and Springfield.
